A Little About Me

I must have been born beneath a wandering star. The thought of getting on the road and going some where new has always thrilled me. Another favorite pastime from earliest youth was listening to my Irish Grandmother tell ghost stories. I grew up in New Orleans, which is a hotbed of legends and haunted spots. What could be more natural than combining the love of travel and fascination with the unknown to produce a book on haunted places, my book, Georgia’s Ghostly Getaways. It was released in February 2003 by Global Authors Publications. That has been followed by Kudzu in May 2003, Manhunt - The Eric Rudolph Story in August 2003, Finding Florida's Phantoms in January 2004, Last Step in June 2004 and Sarah's Story: A Confederate Girls Diary (edited and wrote foreword) in March 2005.

Tax Sales Tactics was originally written as a "work for hire" for a company that later went bust. I was then able to release a print copy and it is proving to be very popular.

My current book, Hosts With Ghosts: Haunted Historic Hotels in the Southeast, is a comprehensive travel guid to the best places to stay, play and visit in the Southeast. It will be available Oct. 1, 2007.

I am the owner/publisher of Global Authors Publication. After having a traditional publisher "dump" my Georgia's Ghostly Getaways, after holding it for over a year with a contract to publish it, I felt  there needed to be a better way for an author to control his or her own work. Please visit my publishing site at Global Authors Publications for more about the GAP philosophy.

My creative work  is varied. I currently write travel articles as well as novels with a touch of murder and mayhem.   In the past I have worked as a reporter for a local newspaper and briefly had my own real estate show on a local television channel.

I am also  the publisher of an online travel magazine. You can visit it at www.americanroads.net. I am proud to be a member of NUW (Not the Usual Way), an organization for authors who have been published non-traditionally and POW (Promoting Outstanding Writers) An organization that helps creative people promote their work.

I am a frequent contributor to travel and food publications, such as Woodall’s Publications, Family Motor Coaching, Doggone Newsletter and North Georgia Journal.   I became an international journalist with the publication of my article Memories of Hank Williams appearing in England's Country Music People. It is based on an interview with Lum York, one of the original Drifting Cowboys.

I also speak and offer workshops related to writing, web sites and digital photography.
